Soma Week Float Parade
Soma week float parade was an exciting event. Before we created the float were very worried that we might not make it.
But because of our team work and perseverance we got to finish our float at right time and parade it including the presentation of our block.

We dance and acted for the float to represent it`s story where it came from and what`s the secret behind it.
The Sarimanok is derived from a totem bird of the Maranao people, called Itotoro. According to the Maranao people, the Itotoro is a medium to the spirit world via its unseen twin spirit bird called Inikadowa.
The Sarimanok is also believed to have originated from the Garuda of Hindu epic ramayana adopted into maharadia of Maranao people, which in turn was later adopted to an Islamic legend after Southern Philippines converted to Islam.
According to the later Islamic legend, Muhammad found a rooster in the first of the seven heavens. The bird was so large its crest touched the second heaven. Its crow roused every living creature except man. Judgement day would come once this celestial rooster ceased to crow.
A Maranao legend also says of a Sultan's daughter being swept by a colorful rooster that became a handsome young man and they were never seen ever again. The Sultan then created replicas of the bird to remember his daughter by.

this is the story of our float. we enjoyed making it even though we held a lot of stress it was all worth it the fun and bonding we experienced were irreplaceable.

sana dati is a film about a girl who fell for a guy that she just knew not so long ago because that guy moves exactly like her ex fiancé who died because of a certain illness. it turns out that the guy was the brother of her late lover.
Opening with an ingenious proposal by Andrew to Andrea, the film immediately cuts to the day of a wedding. Dennis is introduced, carrying into the hotel various camera equipment he barely knows how to use. He finally arrives in Andrea’s room, where he proceeds to interview her, throwing questions about her love for Robert. Andrea directly answers the questions, her eyes avoiding the camera. Dennis does the same for Robert. Robert answers the questions, with his eyes directly upon the camera. Tarog peppers "Sana Dati" with these details that invite interpretation.
The gestures of his characters are never empty. A cigarette butt absentmindedly thrown by Dennis from the hotel’s window lands on Robert’s collar. Andrea’s wedding vows are swept by the wind, creating a shadow for Robert to be signaled of her presence in the rooftop. Fate, the primary cause for lovers to have their happy endings in many unforgettable romances, is also an shown here in this movie. The only difference is that in the movie fate intervenes for sobriety from what essentially is an unrealistic perspective on love.

the ending of the movie was with andrea going to tell the story to his new husband about the love she lost and the reason why she had second thoughts about their marriage.

Who wants to be a millionaire?
Who wants to be a millionaire apc edition was held at the auditorium with a couple of contestant from each block of bot abma and engineering students. The event was fun and all the contestant were obviously enjoying themselves.

the questions were about literature and other basic english topics. were rooting for our section but unfortunately we didm`t won but at least we get to enjoy the show. even if we were not a contestant we were answering some questions in our minds.
the contestant got to bond with each other and created team work. during the program we were quite shock that we didm`t reach the higher level, we were suppose to up in stage cause there was a team that`s being scored even thought nobody is playing. we were quite disappointed how the game turned for us cause we were sure that were suppose to enter the top rankings.

But even so I know everyone enjoyed that day. I just hope that next time a like this will be held it`s going to be fair. There are no hard feelings we are just worried that this thing will happen again and there will be students who worked hard and never given a chance to win.

Speech Choir Competition
Once again our block have been merged with another section in the speech choir competition. It was very exciting I know we did a great performance. Even though we didn`t won we still enjoyed it. We got to bond we another section, shared some ideas and go with the flow. It was hard at first because it was like the last time we merged in the other section. We need to know another people for us to have teamwork. We practiced for a short period of time we were pressured because we got different schedule from this block. We were never match. But thank God, our professors helped us. They gave us time to practice, help us find a room and other things. Time came for the competition we were actually excited. We performed and enjoyed the rest of the program.

The speech choir piece was written by Maya Angelou, a singer, dancer, writer and many other things, the piece was entitled “The cage bird”. There are many interpretations of this piece. Be it a person`s experiences in life, an animal or things that happens in real life. Every block presented the piece in a very entertaining and interesting way.

This may be the last English term for APC but I will surely remember this tiring yet exciting term.

Public Speaking Competition
Public Speaking means talking to people about a certain topic, making a bunch of people listen to a certain interesting or controversial things. Public speaking. This is my weakness whenever our prof tells us there will an activity for her subject that requires us to share our ideas to the class we get to be all ready. My problem on the other hand is that whenever I speak in front even if I`m ready my thoughts scatter. That’s why when our prof told us that we I will be one of the people who will join the public speaking competition my mind got blanked. I asked myself how the heck did I get to be qualified to enter this competition?

Our prof trained us for a couple of weeks before the completion she taught us what to say and how to say each and every words. Time came the competition arrived I was very nervous I don’t know what to do. My mind was blanked and my heart is thumping loud. I keep on saying that I`m not for this competition. When I`m about to speak in front my memorized speech got impromptu. But thank God my ideas didn`t get mixed up. The competition was quite memorable. And I promised myself to never ever enter that kind of competition again. Although I learned many things.
